RECENT PARACONSISTENT DEATH
|
I interviewed Mike Dunn for the paraconsistent newsletter for the
2018 fall edition where he started by saying "I am a kind of accidental paraconsistent logician."
Mike is known in particular for the so-called Belnap-Dunn's logic of which he is the originator (Nuel Belnap was his advisor).
I published Mike's PhD
The Algebra of Intensional Logics
with an introductory essay by Katalin Bimbó
in the Logic PhDs book series
I have founded and I am managing at College Publications.
I started to discuss and to make friendship with him in Moscow in May 2001 where we had both been invited to be speakers at the 3th Smirnov's Reading (in the above picture together with A.Karpenko and V.Vasyukov). I subsequently invited him to be keynote speaker at the
1st UNILOG: World Congress and School on Universal Logic in Montreux in 2005, and to be a member of the board of the journal Logica Universalis. Like me, Mike had more interest for general stuff than for a specific particular system of logic. |
FOREVER DEAD AND ALIVE !
